3D Printed Orbital Shaker v2.0 on Thingiverse

July 1, 2018 | ATL

Our 3D printed DIYbio laboratory orbital shaker v2.0 is finally completed and working. We've put all the files up on Thingiverse. Over time we will improve the documentation on it, including videos on how to assemble it. But it is essentially just a larger version of our original, smaller prototype here.

Below is a 5 second video of the orbital shaker in action. We've also tested it with up to 1kg of weight in the form of a 900mL (30oz) jar filled with water.

The rack system can probably be redesigned to be a little higher. We tested the shaker with our 3D printed lab blocks for shaking multiple test tubes at once at maximum speed with satisfactory results.
